Why Is My Spa Overheating?

A spa overheating can become dangerous if ignored and may damage internal equipment.


Common causes:

  • Failed temperature sensors

  • Flow restrictions

  • Controller faults

  • Heater relay sticking on

  • Dirty filters reducing circulation


Warning signs:

  • Water excessively hot

  • Error codes

  • Steam buildup

  • Pumps continuously running


What to do:

  • Turn off power immediately

  • Remove the spa cover to release heat

  • Do not continue operating the spa

  • Contact a local spa repair specialist as soon as possible
